Cultivating ecological and cultural resilience through native plants across Southeastern North Carolina
We cultivate, distribute, and restore native plants across Southeastern North Carolina to strengthen ecosystems, support pollinators, and empower communities through environmental education and Indigenous-informed stewardship.
Roots, Seeds & Soil provides free and low-cost native plants, trees, seeds, training, and educational outreach to schools, tribal programs, municipalities, community groups, and families across the region. By reconnecting people with native plants and ecological practices, we help restore the land and foster a culture of environmental care.
To restore the land, empower communities, and cultivate ecological and cultural resilience through native plants.
We restore degraded habitats, rebuild pollinator networks, support climate resilience, and preserve culturally significant native species across Southeastern NC.
We equip community members—especially youth, elders, tribal members, and underserved neighborhoods—with skills, plants, tools, and knowledge to become long-term stewards of the land.
We provide accessible, culturally respectful environmental education rooted in both traditional ecological knowledge and modern restoration science.
We envision a Southeastern North Carolina where:
Free and low-cost native plants, trees, and seeds for community members, schools, and restoration projects.
Hands-on workshops, school programs, and training in native plant ecology and habitat restoration.
Community-based ecological restoration supporting biodiversity and pollinator habitats across the region.
Culturally respectful partnerships honoring traditional ecological knowledge and Indigenous-led conservation.
